Peter Obi Donates ₦10m To Ibadan Nursing College, Urges Professionalism
Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi has donated ₦10 million to the College of Nursing Sciences, Oluyoro, Ibadan, as part of his continued support for healthcare education and the training of future medical professionals in Nigeria.
The donation was made during his visit to the institution after attending the opening of the 50th/15th Biennial Conference of the Methodist Church of Nigeria in Ibadan.
Obi met with the college’s management and students, where he reaffirmed his belief that education remains one of the strongest foundations for national development, particularly in the healthcare sector.
According to Obi, the training of competent nurses and other healthcare professionals is essential to improving the quality of healthcare delivery and strengthening Nigeria’s future.
He explained that the ₦10 million donation fulfils an earlier commitment to continue supporting the institution’s efforts in training skilled health workers.
Addressing the students, Obi urged them to take their education seriously, describing nursing as one of the most important professions in the healthcare system.
He encouraged them to pursue excellence, uphold professionalism and compassion, and prepare themselves to become worthy ambassadors of Nigeria both at home and abroad.
