Police Arrest 5 Suspects Over Connection To Kabiru Gaya’s Son’s Murder

Five suspects have been arrested by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command over the murder of Sadiq Gaya, the son Senator Kabiru Gaya (APC, Kano South).

Sadiq is a legal practitioner and staff of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

He was murdered on Tuesday in Abuja. The crime, it was learned, was masterminded by a friend over the sum of N3.5 million.

The deceased’s father, Gaya, 70-year-old, representing was governor of Kano state in 1990s, and has been at the Nigerian Senate since 2007.

He is the  Chairman, Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Spokesperson of FCT police command, Josephine Adeh, confirming the incident, noted that five suspects, in connection with the murder, were in police custody as investigation continued.

“Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder, and investigation is ongoing. The outcome of the investigation will be communicated subsequently,” Adeh said.
