Police Arrest Cleric in Ibadan for Alleged N2.5m Jerusalem Pilgrimage Fraud

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a cleric identified as Kehinde Makinde, popularly known as “Pastor Kenny,” in connection with an alleged N2.5 million fraud involving 18 church members.

The suspect was apprehended in Ibadan, Oyo State, following a four-month intelligence and tracking operation led by detectives from the Obantoko Division.

According to police reports, Makinde allegedly defrauded 18 fellowship members in the Saje, Adatan area of Ogun State under the pretense of organizing a government-sponsored pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Victims were reportedly promised a payout of N2 million each alongside the trip.

Preliminary investigations further revealed that the suspect operated across Ogun, Oyo, and Osun states, allegedly manipulating individuals under the guise of conducting spiritual deliverance.

The Ogun State Police Command confirmed that the suspect remains in custody as detectives continue investigations to identify additional victims and track down potential accomplices.
