Police Arrest Four Over Alleged Assassination Plot Against Businessman in Anambra

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested four suspects in connection with an alleged conspiracy to assassinate a businessman and forcibly take over his landed properties in Ukwulu, Dunukofia Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as Obiora Nwankwo (38), Chiadikobi Okoye (36), Emmanuel Mboko (42), and Ifeanyi Obi (37), were apprehended during coordinated operations across Ukwulu and Amichi.

The arrests were carried out by officers attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, in collaboration with local security personnel. Law enforcement officers recovered two firearms and live ammunition during the operation.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly planned to eliminate the victim to gain control of his real estate holdings in the state.

The Police Command confirmed that the suspects remain in custody while comprehensive investigations continue to uncover additional accomplices and clarify specific roles within the plot. Further legal action will follow upon the completion of the inquiry.
