Police Arrest Three Men Over Alleged Homosexual Acts In Oyo

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three men over allegations of homosexual acts in Saki, Oyo State.

The suspects were identified as Ayomide Lukeman, 22; Shuaib Aremu, 22; and Abdul-Rasheed Mufeed, 23.

The command disclosed this in a statement on Friday, October 16, by its Police Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka.

According to the statement, the arrests followed intelligence received by the command on September 29, 2026, about the alleged involvement of a group of individuals in what it described as “unnatural sexual conduct.”

The command said the Commissioner of Police directed the Monitoring Unit to verify the information and take appropriate action, leading to the arrest of the three suspects by operatives of the unit’s Saki Operational Base.

The statement added that preliminary investigations allegedly revealed that the suspects had engaged in homosexual acts.

“Specifically, two of the suspects reportedly confessed to having had carnal knowledge of the third suspect on multiple occasions, with the latter allegedly regarded by them as their ‘wife’,” the statement read.

The police said investigations were ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the allegations and determine whether other individuals were connected to the case.

Reaffirming its commitment to a professional investigation, the command said it would ensure that all necessary procedures were followed to establish the facts.

“The Command assures the public that all necessary investigative procedures will be followed to establish the facts and ensure that appropriate action is taken based on the outcome of the investigation,” the statement added.

The police also urged members of the public to provide timely and credible information to assist in the prevention, detection and investigation of crime.
