Police Foil Kidnap Attempt, Rescue Four Victims Unhurt in Nasarawa
Police operatives attached to the Andaha Division of the Nasarawa State Police Command have thwarted a kidnapping attempt and safely rescued four victims in Akwanga Local Government Area.
The incident occurred near Megona Filling Station along the Akwanga-Jos Road, following a distress call regarding active armed criminal activity in the area.
Upon arriving at the scene, police officers engaged the armed suspects in a gun battle. The operational team successfully dislodged the assailants, forcing them to flee into the surrounding bush with gunshot injuries and abandon their captives.
All four victims were rescued unhurt. Operatives also recovered several items, including stolen goods believed to have been looted from a nearby shop.
Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended the tactical response of the team and ordered a joint manhunt alongside military personnel, local vigilantes, and hunters to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects.
