Police Intercept Vehicle Carrying 342 Wraps of Indian Hemp in Kogi

The Kogi State Police Command has intercepted a vehicle transporting a large quantity of substances suspected to be Indian hemp in Kabba, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area.

The operation was carried out on May 9, 2026, by operatives attached to a tactical team operating within the Kabba axis. The team intercepted a Honda Pilot vehicle containing about 342 wraps of the suspected substance during a routine operation at a strategic location in the area.

Two suspects were arrested in connection with the incident. The vehicle and the exhibits were moved to the Area Command Headquarters in Kabba for further investigation.

According to the police, an attempt was made to compromise the operatives during the operation, with an offer of N5 million made to influence them. The operatives reportedly resisted the bribe in line with professional standards.

The Commissioner of Police for Kogi State commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to fighting criminality and ensuring the safety of lives and property.

The command also urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies with timely information.
