Police Investigate Murder of Mother, Six Children in Kano Attack

The Kano State Police Command has launched an investigation into the killing of a 35-year-old woman and her six children at their residence in the Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters on Saturday.

The victims, along with another individual, were attacked with dangerous weapons by hoodlums who reportedly broke into their home. The incident has plunged the community into mourning and renewed calls for improved security.

Confirming the attack, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abdullahi Kiyawa, stated that the command received a distress call around 12:10 pm. He said Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Bakori swiftly mobilized a team, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Operations, to the scene.

The victims were evacuated to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital in Kano, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

“The bodies were rushed to the hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival,” Kiyawa confirmed.

He added that the Assistant Commissioner in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department has been tasked with leading the investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

The police command expressed condolences to the bereaved family and the people of Kano State, vowing to ensure justice is served.
