The Police Command in Oyo State says it has commenced investigations into the kidnapping of Mr Wale Oriade, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibadan.
The command’s spokesperson, Adewale Osifeso, while confirming in Ibadan on Thursday, said that Oriade, an APC chieftain in Ibadan South-West Local Government Area, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Wednesday at about 7.00 p.m.
“Investigations are ongoing, and updates will be provided later,” he said.
It was gathered that the victim was kidnapped while leaving his office, located around the Akala Expressway area of Ibadan, by three gunmen, who forced him into a blue Micra vehicle.
The kidnappers were said to have driven off to an unknown destination.
