Police Recover Stolen Honda Civic, Arrest Suspect In Maiduguri

The Borno State Police Command has recorded another operational breakthrough with the recovery of one Honda Civic 200 model, gold in colour, earlier reported stolen within Maiduguri metropolis.

The recovery was achieved by operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID) of the Command on 9/9/2026 at about 1800hrs, following a report received by Abdulkarim Sani ‘M’ of State Low-Cost Area, Maiduguri, Borno State, regarding the disappearance of his vehicle.

Acting on the complaint, operatives of the SID immediately commenced an intelligence-led surveillance within the metropolis, which subsequently led to the interception and arrest of Umar Abubakar M’ 48yrs of Tashan Bama Area, Maiduguri, who was found in possession of the vehicle.

The suspect and recovered vehicle are in custody undergoing discreet investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command CP Naziru Abdulmajid psc commends the operatives for their vigilance and sustained intelligence-led efforts in combating crime across the State.

The Command further assures members of the public that the investigation is ongoing, and any further development will be communicated accordingly.
