Rishi Sunak Congratulates President-elect, Tinubu

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK), Rishi Sunak  has congratulated Bola Tinubu, Nigeria’s president-elect for winning the election.

On Wednesday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Tinubu as the winner of the election that was held on Saturday.

In a post on Twitter, Sunak said he looks forward to working with Nigeria to grow the two country’s security and trade.

“Congratulations to @officialABAT on his victory in Nigeria,” he tweeted.

“The UK-Nigeria relationship remains strong. I look forward to working together to grow our security and trade ties, opening up opportunities for businesses and creating prosperity in both our countries.”
