Football star, Cristiano Ronaldo has garnered over 500 million followers on Instagram.

The feat is historic as it makes him the first to hit this milestone on the platform.

This is following a brand sponsorship deal with Louis Vuitton in which a photoshop appeared to show Ronaldo and Lionel Messi share a chessboard.

The Manchester United forward hit this milestone on Monday after crossing the 400 million followers mark a few months back.
