Shettima to Commission Second Flyover in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday

Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima is set to commission the Ijigbo Flyover in Ado-Ekiti, the second flyover bridge built in the state.

The project was initiated and completed by the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji. The formal commissioning will take place on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

The bridge is expected to ease traffic congestion, improve road safety, and boost commercial activities along the busy Ijigbo/Oja-Oba corridor. Residents, traders, transport operators, and visitors stand to benefit from smoother movement and better connectivity in the state capital.

This infrastructure milestone is part of broader development efforts across Ekiti State, which include road construction and rehabilitation, school upgrades, modernisation of healthcare facilities, and renewed investment in agriculture. Economic activities are also expanding, alongside progress in power, tourism, and human capital development.

The Vice President’s attendance at the ceremony reflects strong collaboration between the state and federal governments. The event further demonstrates a shared commitment to infrastructure as a driver of growth and modernisation in Ekiti.
