Soludo Dedicates Second Term to God, Says Re-Election Divinely Ordained

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has dedicated his second term in office to God, describing his first tenure and re-election as divinely orchestrated.

The governor stated this on Sunday during a thanksgiving service held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka, to mark the beginning of his second term.

Soludo said the occasion was an opportunity to formally hand over the next four years to God, adding that his emergence as governor came at the right time and was in line with divine will.

“Exactly last week, we were at the International Convention Centre to thank God for the successful completion of four years in office. Today, the Sunday following the oath of office, we are here to thank God for a successful inauguration and to hand over the entire second tenure to God,” he said.

The governor emphasised that Anambra remained in God’s hands and that his administration was ordained for the present moment to serve the people. Drawing inspiration from the biblical account of Jesus and Lazarus, he noted that God’s timing remains perfect, and his administration would continue to rely on divine guidance.

Soludo revealed that during the electioneering campaign, his team prayed for the capacity to deliver beyond expectations and to leave the state better than they met it. He expressed optimism that the state would witness greater progress in the next four years.

He thanked stakeholders for their support during his first term and called for increased collaboration to achieve even more in his second tenure. The governor also commended members of his cabinet, whom he described as the “solution team,” for their sacrifices and contributions to the state’s development.

He further expressed gratitude to the Presidency, the Federal Government, the international community, the private sector, religious bodies, traditional rulers, community leaders, and youths for their support, urging them to sustain their cooperation to help consolidate the administration’s achievements.

Earlier, the Papal Nuncio to Nigeria, Archbishop Michael-Francis Crotty, commended the governor for the noticeable developmental strides recorded during his first term in office.
