Son Of Nasarawa Governor Is Dead
Abdullahi A. Sule, governor of Nasarawa State has lost his son, Alhaji Hassan AA Sule.
Hassan reportedly died on Friday morning after a brief illness.
Muhammed Alkali, Honourable member representing Lafia North Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly who confirmed the Governor’s son’s death, described it as a “shocking” development.
The lawmaker said it is a colossal loss not only to Nasarawa State but the Nation at large.
“I share my deep condolences with His Excellency, Engr Abdullahi A. Sule, over the passing of his beloved son Alh. Hassan.
” I pray that Allah (SWT) grants him Aljanatul Firdaus and comfort his family” Alkali said.

EFCC arrests seven suspected internet fraudsters in Makurdi
The Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday February 29, 2024, arrested seven suspected internet fraudsters.
They were arrested in their hideout in Aliade in the Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.
Items recovered from them include eight phones, three iPad, two internet routers and one international passport.
The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Two Fraudsters Bag Jail Terms in Kaduna
The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has secured the conviction and sentence of Mohammed Nasir Sadeeq for cheating and Daniel John for cheating by impersonation
before Justice A.A Isiaka of the Kaduna State High Court.
EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale in a statement said both of them were prosecuted on one-count separate charges bordering on cheating and personation.
One of the count charge reads: “That you Daniel John (a.k.a Jamie Doman) male, sometime in November, 2023, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, impersonated one Jamie Doman when you pretended to be a Bitcoin online investor agent on Instagram, obtained the sum of $200 (Two Hundred Dollars) from unsuspecting persons and thereby committed cheating by impersonation, an offence contrary to Section 308 of the Penal Code Law, 2017 of Kaduna State and punishable under Section 309 of the same Law.”
They both pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to them. Consequent on their pleas, EFCC counsel, Y.J Matiyak prayed the court to convict and sentence them accordingly.
Justice Isiaka thereafter convicted and sentenced John to one year imprisonment or a fine option of N150,000.00 (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira). In addition, he forfeited his iPhone 12 and Samsung Galaxy 10 both of which were proceeds of his crime to the government, while Sadeeq was convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment with a fine option of N200,000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira).
The convicts’ journey to the Correctional Centre began when they were arrested at Fifth Chukker, Maraban Jos, Kaduna State. Investigations showed that John was using identities of different foreigners to defraud unsuspecting members of the public while Mohammed cheated his victim to the tune of N50,000.00 (Fifty Thousand Naira).

Police arrest 3 suspected car snatchers, robbers in Abuja, Recover 9 vehicles
Three suspects who specialised in car snatching and robbery in Abuja and its environs have been arrested by operatives of the FCT command of the Nigeria Police.
The arrested suspects have been identified as David Junior Godwin, Paul Taju and Ali Shitu.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ben Igweh, said, “the suspects are members of a four-man gang who specialise in interstate car theft and snatching. They are responsible for a series of car snatching and the disappearance of several Hilux vehicles reportedly stolen in FCT and its environs.”
“The suspects come into the FCT, perpetrate their heinous acts and take the stolen vehicles to Port-Harcourt to sell.”
He went further to say that a master key and a total of nine vehicles were recovered from the suspects.
According to the CP, the suspects confessed to the crime and are currently helping the police to apprehend other gang members.
