Super Eagles visit former Protocol Officer, Akpenpunn at Nigerian Embassy

The Super Eagles’ players on Thursday paid a courtesy call on Robert Akpenpuun, a Chief Superintendent of immigration now on diplomatic mission at the Nigerian Embassy in Abidjan.
Akpenpuun was a protocol officer for the Nigeria Football Federation and the national teams. He assisted the Super Eagles on immigration issues while on duty.
The players led by their captain, William Troost-Ekong paid a courtesy call on Akpenpuun at the Nigeria embassy which is just a shouting distance from the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, venue of the Nigeria-Cameroon match on Saturday.
Akpenpuun was also a match commissioner while he was in Nigeria. His last assignment in that regard was a Match Day 15 home match of Bendel Insurance against El Kanemi last season.
Players of both sides gave him a guard of honour before the kick-off.
