Three Missing Siblings Found Dead Near River In Akure Farm

A family in Akure, Ondo State, has been thrown into deep grief following the deaths of three siblings, including 11-year-old twins, whose bodies were found near the bank of a small river at a farm around the Owena Army Barracks.

The victims were identified as Joshua Jonah, 11; his twin brother, Jacob Jonah, 11; and their five-year-old sister, Blessing Jonah.

The children reportedly accompanied their father, Samuel Jonah, to the farm on Friday, September 4, 2026, but later left the farm and headed home.

Their father reportedly discovered that the children were missing after he returned home, prompting a search for them.

The search ended in tragedy the following day when the bodies of the three siblings were found near the bank of a small river within the farm.

The incident has left the family devastated, with the loss of three children at once compounding the grief surrounding the tragedy.

The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Jimoh Abayomi, confirmed the incident, saying the command was investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Abayomi said the children had accompanied their father to the farm before they were later discovered missing.

He added that the bodies had been released to their father for burial, while the police continued to document the incident and investigate the circumstances that led to the deaths.

According to him:“The Ondo State Police Command confirms the tragic loss of three siblings at a farm located around the Owena Army Barracks, Akure, on 4th September 2026.

“The victims, identified as Joshua Jonah, 11 years; Jacob Jonah, 11 years, (twins), and Blessing Jonah, five years, reportedly accompanied their father, Samuel Jonah, to the farm.

“They later left the farm for home but were discovered missing when their father returned home.”
