Three Police Officers Face Trial For Assaulting Motorist In Bayelsa

Three police officers Inspector Agip Teiwei, Inspector Bedford Emolade and ASP Peter Frank are being tried for attacking a civilian with a stick over expired vehicle particulars.

The trio reportedly committed the act at the Akenfa axis of Yenagoa, the state capital were seen in a viral video committing the act.

The state’s police spokesman, SP Asinim Butswat, said in a statement on Tuesday, that the Commissioner of Police, Ben Nebolisa Okolo, has ordered the Provost Marshall of the command to try the policemen.

“Orderly room trial has commenced for Inspector Agip Teiwei and Inspector Bedford Emolade, while ASP Peter Frank has been queried.

“The Nigeria Police Force is a disciplined organisation and Bayelsa State Command cannot condone any act of indiscipline by its officers,” he said.
