Tinubu Commends Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin on Birthday, Highlights Legislative Impacts

President Bola Tinubu has extended his warm congratulations to the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, on the occasion of his birthday, praising his dedication to public service and national development.
In a congratulatory message issued through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu lauded Senator Barau’s leadership qualities and his extensive efforts in driving legislation aimed at economic growth and social development.
The President highlighted Barau’s versatile career, noting his professional background as an accountant and his seasoned record as a federal lawmaker. He specifically pointed out Barau’s unique legislative track record, which includes the rare distinction of having chaired the Appropriations Committees in both the House of Representatives and the Senate at different periods.
President Tinubu further remarked that Senator Barau’s consecutive electoral victories reflect the strong trust reposed in him by his constituents. This grassroots support, the President noted, was built on Barau’s historical contributions to community development, particularly through initiatives in healthcare and education within Kano State.
Senator Barau, who represents the Kano North Senatorial District, currently holds the positions of Deputy Senate President and First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament. His legislative priorities over the years have spanned critical sectors including agriculture, education, economic empowerment, and youth development. Prior to his current legislative roles, Barau also served as the Chairman of Kano State Investment and Properties Limited and as the Kano State Commissioner for Science and Technology.
Concluding his message, President Tinubu offered prayers for the lawmaker, wishing him continued good health, wisdom, and many more years of dedicated service to the nation.
