Tinubu Government Dedicated to Resolving Security Challenges, Says Senate President Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has reassured the nation that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is intensifying efforts to counter Nigeria’s security challenges, expressing confidence that widespread security threats will soon be brought to an end.

Akpabio made these remarks in Abuja while hosting a delegation from the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria, led by its National President, Dr. Lima Ahmed, during a courtesy visit to the National Assembly.

Addressing the executive members, Akpabio cited the recent recovery of kidnapped schoolchildren in Oyo State as evidence of the administration’s active interventions against criminal networks. He urged citizens to remain optimistic and cautioned against relying entirely on social media reports regarding the state of national security.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is giving the situation its utmost attention, and that is what led to the recent release of the school children that were abducted in Oyo State,” Akpabio said. “I can assure you that very soon, the issue of security would be a thing of the past.”

During the meeting, the Senate President also touched on gender representation in governance, suggesting that past experiences with certain female officeholders have impacted public perceptions regarding women’s political solidarity.

Closing the visit, Akpabio pledged the National Assembly’s backing for the upcoming international ladies’ golf tournament set to take place at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja. In turn, the association formally decorated the Senate President as its Grand Patron.
