The President made the pledge after performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia, where he was granted the rare privilege of entering the Holy Ka’abah in Makkah to offer prayers alongside members of the Nigerian delegation.
In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu expressed appreciation to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for granting him and members of his delegation access to the sacred site.
Describing the experience as historic and deeply cherished, the President said he used the opportunity to seek divine wisdom and resilience to continue serving Nigerians.
“I asked for wisdom and resilience to continue to serve the people. I know that prayer has been granted,” Tinubu said.
He recalled that he had made a similar spiritual journey before the 2023 presidential election, promising to return to thank Allah if his prayers were answered.
The President also reflected on the message in Surah Aal-Imran, Verse 26 of the Holy Qur’an, which affirms that Allah alone possesses ultimate sovereignty and has the authority to give and take power.
According to him, political authority is a divine trust that must be exercised responsibly and in the interest of the people.
“There is no other God but Almighty Allah. He is the giver and the taker. He owns power and authority,” he said.

He declared that the spiritual experience had strengthened his determination to deliver on his vision for Nigeria.
“My commitment to Project Nigeria is higher. I am determined to usher in prosperity and fully develop the country, consistent with the wish of Allah and the support of the people,” he said.
On the economy, the President expressed optimism about the progress recorded under his administration, describing the country’s economic foundation as solid.
“The foundation is solid, and the economy has come out of the dark tunnel. This is inspiring,” he stated.
He also stressed the need for sustained investment in young Nigerians, warning that the decisions taken by present-day leaders would shape how future generations judge their stewardship.Nigeria political analysis
“We need to build a future for our youth. If we don’t invest in their future, how do we want to be remembered as leaders 50 years from now?” he asked.

The President also expressed gratitude to the Saudi monarch and Crown Prince, describing their gesture as a reflection of the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
He particularly noted the Nigerian colours of green and white on the fencing around the Ka’abah, describing the sight as a reminder of the country’s national identity.
The President’s delegation included Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi; Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate; and governors of Borno, Sokoto, Jigawa, Kaduna, Yobe and Kwara states.
Chairman of BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu, and Oando Chief Executive Officer, Wale Tinubu, were also among the prominent Nigerians who accompanied the President.
According to the statement, members of the delegation expressed gratitude to Allah and the President for the opportunity to enter the sacred Ka’abah and pray alongside him.
