Troops Arrest 64-Year-Old Boko Haram Drone Supplier in Adamawa
Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, have arrested a 64-year-old suspected Boko Haram drone supplier in Adamawa State.
The suspect, identified as Dauda Gubula, was apprehended at Madagali Motor Park in Madagali Local Government Area of the state, according to a statement released on Saturday by the operation’s Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba.
The arrest was carried out in coordination with local vigilantes and hunters.
Items recovered from Gubula included two aerial drones, drone accessories, and 20 solar power banks. The military described him as a terrorist collaborator responsible for supplying drones to insurgents, which were then locally armed and used against troops.
In a related development, troops of Sector 4, operating under the 28 Task Force Brigade, arrested 28-year-old Ismail Muhammed, a suspected terrorist logistics supplier, in the Visik General area of Hong Local Government Area.
Items recovered from Muhammed included one AK-47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements, and assorted foodstuffs.
The statement also disclosed that troops neutralized a terrorist commander, Abdullahi Mafa, during an ambush around the Visik River line in Madagali. An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered from him.
In a separate operation in Sector 2, troops of Operation Hadin Kai, working with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force, repelled an insurgent attack in Ngamdu, Borno State. They also neutralized a terrorist informant who attempted to breach defensive positions in the area.
