Police in the Kalepadal area of Pune, India, detained two Nigerian nationals on Monday in connection with the death of a 40-year-old Nigerian man, according to local media reports.

The incident reportedly occurred after a gathering at the residence of a Nigerian woman in Phursungi on Sunday. An argument is said to have broken out among the attendees. Early Monday morning, as the victim was leaving the premises, he was allegedly followed and fatally assaulted in the building’s parking lot by two acquaintances.

Authorities are investigating the motive, which preliminary reports link to a dispute. The victim, whose identity has not been publicly released, also resided in the Phursungi area.

In an unrelated case, Indian narcotics detectives in Hyderabad arrested two other Nigerian nationals Chidi Ezeh, 42, and Obasi Victor, 38 on Friday for alleged drug trafficking and visa violations. Officials indicated Victor faces deportation, while Ezeh remains in custody.

Local police have not commented further on either incident.
