VIDEO: Sunday Igboho Deploys Drone Surveillance to Combat Insecurity in Old Oyo National Park

Activist Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, has initiated an aerial surveillance operation within the Old Oyo National Park, utilizing drone technology to monitor the expansive forest reserve for criminal activity.

According to reports, the surveillance effort, which is being funded by the activist, has already identified a suspected camp concealed within the forest. The team conducting the operation has noted that the current scale of the park requires a more significant deployment of technology, estimating that at least 20 drones would be necessary to effectively monitor the entire area, which has become a focal point of concern regarding the presence of armed groups.

The activation of this private surveillance mission highlights ongoing public anxieties regarding the use of Nigeria’s forest reserves as hideouts for kidnapping syndicates and other criminal elements. The situation has prompted renewed calls for government authorities and security agencies to increase both ground and aerial patrols within these vast territories to restore safety and curb the operations of criminal gangs.
