A suspected terrorist leader, Kachalla Maha, who is wanted for masterminding numerous violent attacks across Katsina State, has claimed in a leaked audio recording that members of the Nigerian security forces are working on his behalf

He claims that security personnel deployed to dismantle his camps are providing him with operational details, asserting, “All the security forces being sent to attack my camp are my boys.

The audio, which has circulated widely, provides a troubling look into the challenges facing regional security. During the exchange, the government-linked individual repeatedly urged the insurgent to cease his activities and engage in peace initiatives. In response, however, Maha threatened further violence against surrounding villages, accusing the government and local communities of acting with bias against him
