Zamfara Government Declares Curfew After Post-election Violence
Following massive unrests and post-election that rocked the state on Monday, the Zamfara state government has declared a curfew.
Ibrahim Dosara, the Commissioner for Information, in a statement said the curfew would start from 8 pm to 6 am until peace is restored.
“The Government of Zamfara State has noticed with dismay, the wanton destruction and vandalisation of government and public property and assets and several innocent citizens are being inflicted with various degrees of injuries in the name of celebration of yesterday’s declaration of governorship election results,” he said.
According to him, lives and properties were destroyed during the process, as a result, there was the need to impose curfew to avoid further destruction.
