12.28s: Amusan Dominates Paris Track
Nigerian track star Tobi Amusan continued her impressive season form by winning the women’s 100m hurdles at the Paris Diamond League on Sunday. The world record holder clocked a time of 12.28 seconds, successfully equalling her season’s best performance.
Amusan faced early competition from Nadine Visser, who took an initial lead, but the Nigerian athlete showcased her trademark closing speed to surge past the field and finish comfortably ahead of the pack. American duo Grace Stark and Alaysha Johnson followed in second and third place, with times of 12.38s and 12.39s, respectively.
This victory marks Amusan’s third time clocking 12.28s this season, following similar results at Diamond League meets in Xiamen and Rabat earlier this year. It is her second Diamond League win of the 2026 season and adds to her recent triumph at the New Taipei City Athletics Open.
Now 28, the four-time African champion is building significant momentum as she prepares for the upcoming Diamond League final and the Commonwealth Games. Having dominated the Diamond League circuit with three consecutive titles between 2021 and 2023, Amusan remains a top contender as she seeks to reclaim her crown this year.
