21-Year-Old Arrested with Human Body Part and Firearms in Lagos
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested 21-year-old Samson Onilewaji after he was found in possession of a suspected human hand, firearms, and other incriminating items during a routine stop-and-search operation.
The arrest took place along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, where police intercepted an unregistered commercial shuttle bus carrying six passengers. During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered a human right hand, two locally made pistols, a live cartridge, and two axes. Additionally, authorities discovered a Point of Sale (POS) terminal and five ATM cards in the suspect’s possession.
According to police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi, the suspect confessed to robbing three individuals, from whom he reportedly stole the recovered POS machine and ATM cards.
The police command has launched an investigation to identify the origin of the human body part and the suspect’s intended use for it. Detectives are also working to track down and apprehend other criminal associates linked to the case.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining security across the state, with the Commissioner of Police, Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, urging residents to remain vigilant and continue providing law enforcement with information to help prevent violent crime. The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to be charged to court once the investigation concludes.
