Folorunsho Alakija Gifts Osun State University N34bn Medical Research Hospital

Nigerian business mogul, Folorunso Alakija, has donated a N34 billion medical research and training hospital to Osun State University. The facility, named the Modupe and Folorunso Alakija Medical Research and Training Hospital, was officially commissioned today by former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

The state-of-the-art hospital boasts an impressive array of facilities, including 250 admission beds, 20 clinical departments, and 5 non-clinical departments. It also features a community health unit, comprehensive maternity and neonatal care, advanced research and diagnostic laboratories, and four modern operating theatres.

The hospital is equipped with cutting-edge imaging equipment, including CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, and X-ray, as well as radiotherapy suites and 16 ICUs. An ophthalmology unit and numerous other facilities are also part of the hospital’s offerings, designed to enhance healthcare delivery and medical research.

The donation is a significant boost to the university and the state’s healthcare sector, and is expected to provide much-needed medical services and training opportunities to students and healthcare professionals.
