Osun PDP Endorses Adeleke for Re-election via Accord Party

The Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State has officially endorsed incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke for re-election in the August 15, 2026 governorship election under the platform of the Accord Party.

At an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting held at the party secretariat in Osogbo, PDP Chairman Hon. Sunday Bisi directed all party structures to give “total, unalloyed, and uncompromising support” to Governor Adeleke under the Accord Party platform.

“After wide consultations with our elders, stakeholders, leaders across the three senatorial districts, and after careful consideration of the overriding interest of Osun people, the Osun State Chapter of the PDP hereby directs all our structures…to move en masse and give total, unalloyed, and uncompromising support to the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke under the platform of the Accord,” Bisi said.

The chairman attributed the decision to ongoing leadership crises at the national PDP level, which he said prevented the party from presenting a candidate for the Osun governorship.

He stressed that internal disputes would not derail the development of the state.

“We will not allow internal crisis at one level to sabotage development in Osun, hence the need to give full support to the performing governor of Osun State in the person of the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke,” Bisi added.

Governor Adeleke, acknowledging his former PDP membership, accepted the adoption and expressed gratitude to the party leadership and members for the endorsement.

“I love PDP, but I have to leave to escape being trapped for my reelection. I confided in some of our leaders that I trust, we started consulting and praying to God over it. We were guided to the Accord Party, you see that the party is the first on the ballot,” Adeleke said.

He urged voters to back the Accord Party on August 15, 2026, assuring them of victory and emphasizing that the people of Osun desire the continuation of good governance in the state.
