APC Kano Dismisses ‘Faceless’ Group’s Claim of Withdrawing Support for Tinubu’s 2026 Bid

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has categorically denied reports suggesting a withdrawal of support for President Bola Tinubu’s anticipated second-term bid, describing the alleged statement from a group known as the Arewa APC Forum as a fabrication aimed at sowing discord within the party.

In a press release issued Saturday and signed by State Publicity Secretary Auwalu Abdullahi, the Kano Chapter described the claim as “false, misleading, and a calculated attempt to tarnish the image of the party.”

The party leadership emphasized that the so-called Arewa APC Forum is not a recognized or constitutionally backed organ of the APC at any level within the state. The statement reaffirmed that the Kano State Chapter remains resolutely behind President Tinubu and the policies of his administration.

“The APC in Kano is aware of attempts by certain individuals and faceless groups to create confusion and disunity within the party,” the statement read in part. “We wish to state categorically that this so-called forum is not known to the party structure and does not represent the views of APC members in Kano State.”

The party further used the opportunity to express unwavering confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, highlighting the administration’s ongoing focus on economic reforms, good governance, and national development.

Led by Chairman Umar Doguwa, the Kano APC urged all party faithful and members of the public to disregard the purported withdrawal notice entirely, labelling it the handiwork of mischief-makers intent on stirring unnecessary political tension.

“The so-called signatory of the purported withdrawal is faceless and not a stakeholder of the party at any level in Kano,” the statement concluded, reiterating the chapter’s unity and full backing of the President’s vision for a prosperous Nigeria.
