75-Year-Old Man Rescued After Falling into Well While Retrieving Bucket in Oyo

The Oyo State Fire Service has rescued a 75-year-old man who fell into a deep well in the Atisbo Local Government Area of the state while attempting to retrieve a fetching bucket.

The Chairman of the Fire Services Agency confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday, stating that the rescue operation took place on Monday, May 18, after a distress call was received around 6:26 pm.

According to the statement, a rescue team was immediately deployed to the scene at Igbo Ologun along Irawo Road and carried out the operation using necessary equipment.

The victim was rescued alive and subsequently handed over to a team of policemen from the Saki Divisional Headquarters.

The fire service chairman advised residents to always ensure that wells are properly covered when not in use. He also urged the public to promptly call emergency services in distress situations and to provide accurate location details.
