NDC unveils Ekiti candidates for 2027 elections, hails peaceful primaries

The Ekiti State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has unveiled its candidates for the 2027 senatorial, House of Representatives, and state House of Assembly elections.

The party’s House of Representatives candidate for Ekiti North I Federal Constituency, Dr Ayodele David-Adesua, commended stakeholders and supporters for the peaceful conduct of the affirmation exercise held on Friday in Ado Ekiti. He stated that the NDC remains committed to transparency, youth empowerment, economic development, and purposeful representation.

David-Adesua expressed confidence that the party would secure victory for its candidates in the 2027 elections and assured his constituents of quality representation.

The NDC, following extensive consultations and stakeholder engagements across the South-West zone, affirmed its consensus candidates. The state chairman, Musa Arogundade, said the candidates emerged through a transparent consensus arrangement designed to strengthen party unity and internal democracy.

The party listed its senatorial candidates as Olu Alufa (Ekiti Central), Prince Adeyinka Alli (Ekiti North), and Dr Ayokunle Ayodele (Ekiti South). It also named six House of Representatives candidates and several state assembly candidates.

Speaking at the event, Ekiti South senatorial candidate Ayodele described the NDC as a divine intervention offering hope and people-centred governance. Other candidates praised the consensus process as a reflection of unity and maturity.

Party stakeholders expressed confidence that the NDC is positioning itself as a formidable political force in Ekiti State.
