Kwankwaso Refutes Protest Rumours Over Insecurity, Calls for Peaceful Engagement

Former Kano State Governor and National Democratic Coalition vice presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has dismissed social media claims that he is planning a protest against the country’s rising insecurity.

In a public statement released on Monday, Kwankwaso described the circulating message as false and unrelated to his position or that of his political party. He warned Nigerians against spreading what he termed disinformation.

The former governor made it clear that neither he nor the NDC supports any action capable of disrupting public order or endangering lives and property.

He reiterated the group’s dedication to lawful and peaceful means of addressing national challenges, insisting that democratic processes remain the only legitimate pathway to political change.

Kwankwaso also argued that political grievances should be resolved through elections rather than street demonstrations, expressing strong confidence in his party’s chances at the polls.

“As committed democrats, we firmly believe that the ballot box remains the most legitimate and effective way to express grievances and seek change,” he said.

He urged the public to ignore the false message and refrain from amplifying inaccurate information.
