Akwa Ibom Police commissioner dies in Lagos

The Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara, has died in Lagos just hours after attending a retirement and birthday ceremony.

It was gathered that Ayilara died earlier today at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, where doctors are on strike.

A source told Gazelle News Online, “In fact, he walked into the hospital on Wednesday for a surgery, but unfortunately, we lost him.”

A devout Muslim, Ayilara will be laid to rest today in accordance with Islamic rites.
