Anti-party: Zamfara PDP Expels Governorship Aspirant
A former governorship aspirant under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State, Ibrahim Shehu Bakauye Gusau, has been expelled from the party.
The sack was contained in a letter signed by the PDP secretary, Mayana Ward Secretary, Gusau Local Government, Alhaji Hassan Gusau, and dated January 7, 2023.
The party said it observed with dismay Mr Gusau’s court cases against the party, which the party said contravened Article 58 (1) L of the PDP constitution 2017 (as amended).
The aspirant accused Mr Gusau of “consistent engagement in acts that are inimical to the party and other anti-party activities contrary with Article 58 (l), (f) (h) and (i) of the PDP Constitution 2017 (as amended).”
The party also indicted Ibrahim Gusau of “gross indiscipline toward the party contrary to Article 58 (l) (a) (b) (c) of the PDP 2017 Constitution (as amended).”
The letter said it was “in view the foregoing that Hon Ibrahim Gusau, former PDP member, Mayana Ward, Gusau Local Government Zamfara State is hereby expelled from the party and your party membership terminated effective January 6, 2023.”
The expelled member had contested the governorship race and lost in 2015, 2019 and 2022 primaries.
