APC Sweeps All 24 Chairmanship Seats in Expanded Gombe Local Elections

The All Progressives Congress has secured a comprehensive victory in the Gombe State local government elections, winning all 24 chairmanship positions and 240 councillorship seats. The results, announced on Saturday by the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission, follow the state’s recent administrative expansion from 11 to 24 local government areas.

The electoral commission chairman, Abdullahi Garba, hailed the expanded exercise as a major milestone for the state. He commended the peaceful conduct of the election and thanked the various stakeholders, including security agencies and civil society organizations, for their support in facilitating the transition to the new administrative structure.
