Chief Imam Shot Dead By Bandits In Sokoto

Bandits have shot dead the Chief Imam of Gangara District in Sabon Birni Local Government of Sokoto State, Malam Na-Kimba.

It was gathered that the Chief Imam was coming back from Sokoto when he was killed on Wednesday.

A source said that the religious leader was a retiree who was called to Sokoto to collect his pension.

“He was on his way back to Gangara when they were attacked.

“The bandits opened fire on their vehicle because the driver had refused to stop. I counted six bullet holes on the vehicle.

“The bullets hit and killed the imam”, the source said.

The police is yet to react to the incident.
