Court Bars Kano Government From Selling Hospital
The Kano State government has been stopped from selling a maternity and children clinic in Yan awaki quarters of the state.
Justice Maryam Ahamd Sabo of Kano State High Court No 16 sitting in Miller Road issued the restraining order in a case brought before her by Yan Awaki residents.
Leader of the about 113 residents, Salisu Ibrahim of Yan Awaki K/Wamabai filed a motion ex-parte dated December 20.
The counsel of the Yan awaki residents, Barrister Badamasi Sulaiman Gandu had prayed the court to restrain Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Attorney General of Kano State and Municipal
Local Government Area from going ahead with the planned sale of the hospital
Justice Sabo granted the prayers of Yan awaki residents and restrained the first respondent from selling the hospital and ordered all parties to maintain status quo pending the adjourned date fixed for hearing of the application.
The case has been adjourned to 23rd of December, 2022.
