Ekiti State Partners with Federal Ministry to Digitalize Hospital Supply Chains
Ekiti State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, has welcomed a new initiative from the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to digitalize hospital supply chains across the state.
The move is aimed at enhancing efficient service delivery in Ekiti State’s healthcare sector.
Dr. Filani received a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Health, led by Dr. Adeola Olufowobi-Yusuf, Director of Food and Drug Services, and Dr. Gideon Orkeghen of the National Product Supply Chain Management Programme.
The visit was an entry meeting to brief Dr. Filani on plans for training and digitalization of hospital supply chains.
The Commissioner commended the initiative, assuring seamless collaboration with the Ministry’s team and reaffirming Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s strong commitment to efficient service delivery.
This development aligns with Ekiti State’s efforts to strengthen its healthcare system, including the adoption of digital health technologies and the implementation of the Ulerawa health insurance program.
Dr. Filani has been instrumental in transforming Ekiti State’s health sector, with achievements including halving neonatal and under-5 mortality rates, reducing teenage pregnancies by 36%, and increasing facility deliveries by 14%.
