Five Killed As Bandits Invade Zamfara Market

An attack by bandits on the Gidan Goga community market in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State has led to the death of five people.

A vigilante killed two bandits while three locals also fell to the bandits bullets on Wednesday when the market located 7 kilometre off Kaura Namoda-Shinkafi road, was attacked.

The three men tried to escaped when they were killed during the repel attack.

The gun duel caused commotion causing people to run for safety

A courageous vigilante with dane gun killed two of them instantly. The vigilante displayed gallantry, having been abandoned by other who fled, as he single handedly face oncoming bandits.

That did not last long as the attackers reinforced, flooded the deserted market and looted anything in sight. They set dozens of motorcycles and torched market stalls.

The spokesman of the state police command SP Muhammad Shehu is yet to react to the incident.
