Gunmen Abduct Wife, Daughter of APC Chairman in Kwara
Gunmen have abducted the wife and daughter of Muhammad Swasun, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sakpefu, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The attack occurred yesterday night when armed men stormed the community, firing shots into the air to disperse residents before seizing their targets.
The victims were identified as Hajiya Fatima, Swasun’s wife, and his daughter, Amina.
“The bandits abducted his wife, Hajiya Fatima, and his daughter, Amina, and took them to an unknown destination,” a source told reporters today. Witnesses said the attackers spent several minutes in the area before escaping with their captives.
The abduction comes amid a series of violent attacks in Kwara North. Just a day earlier, suspected bandits raided Shagbe community in Ifelodun Local Government Area, where they stormed the palace of the Onishagbe of Shagbe.
The assailants reportedly targeted the monarch and his household, but their plans failed. Instead, they killed some residents, abducted others, and operated for hours without security intervention despite repeated distress calls.
“The bandits came in large numbers, forced their way into the palace, and unleashed terror on the community,” a source said, adding that the exact number of casualties and abducted residents remained unclear as of press time.
