INEC to hold mock voter accreditation on Friday ahead of Ekiti governorship poll
The Independent National Electoral Commission will conduct a mock accreditation of voters in Ekiti State on Friday as part of preparations for the June 20 governorship election.
The state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Bunmi Omoseyindemi, said the exercise would take place in one local government area from each of the three senatorial districts. He explained that the mock accreditation is aimed at testing the effectiveness of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System machines that will be used during the election.
Omoseyindemi noted that any lapses discovered during the exercise would be corrected, adding that the commission is being proactive to identify potential challenges ahead of time.
He also appealed to registered voters who have not yet collected their Permanent Voter Cards to do so before Thursday, as collection will continue until that day.
