Kaduna Police Arraign More Suspects in Mob Killing Investigation
The Kaduna State Police Command has intensified its investigation into the recent mob killing in Maraban Jos, Igabi Local Government Area, announcing the arraignment of 17 additional suspects.
In a statement released on Friday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, confirmed that the 17 suspects were brought before a competent court on June 25, 2026. Furthermore, 33 other individuals have been charged with criminal conspiracy and unlawful assembly in connection with the same incident.
As part of the ongoing probe, the police revealed that 30 people who were previously arrested have since been released after investigations cleared them of any direct involvement in the crime.
Police Commissioner Muhammad Rabiu reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victim and maintaining order throughout the state. He urged the public to remain law-abiding and to continue assisting law enforcement by providing credible information to aid the search for remaining suspects.
The incident, which drew widespread condemnation from community leaders and security organizations, remains under active investigation as police continue to track down all individuals involved in the act of mob violence.
