Kano launches task force for motor parks security
Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has launched a Special Task Force to tackle security threats at motor parks and public spaces across the state. The move aims to prevent criminal activities and safeguard residents, particularly at key entry and exit points in the metropolitan area.
The task force will focus on surveillance, intelligence gathering, and coordinated security operations at motor parks and other vulnerable locations, including filling stations and public spaces. This initiative is part of the administration’s efforts to address rising insecurity in Kano, which has seen bandit attacks and abductions in rural areas.
Governor Yusuf has reiterated his commitment to protecting lives and property, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards criminality. The state government has also intensified security measures, including a ban on passenger conveyance by motorcycles in nine metropolitan LGAs and restrictions on commercial tricycles operating between 10 pm and 6 am.
