Katsina APC Backs Tinubu and Governor Radda for Second Term in 2027
The Katsina State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Dikko Radda as its sole candidates for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was declared on Monday during a major APC stakeholders’ meeting in Katsina, attended by party leaders, elected officials, and grassroots representatives from across the state.
Governor Radda affirmed Katsina’s status as a historic stronghold of the APC, highlighting the state’s longstanding political alliance with the South-West. “Katsina has consistently supported leaders from the South-West, just as they supported our sons, including President Muhammadu Buhari and now President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Radda stated.
He emphasized that the support for Tinubu is based on a “principled and enduring partnership,” not political convenience, and formally declared, “Today, we fully endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his second term.”
Radda showcased the party’s dominance in the state, noting that all 361 councillors, 34 local government chairmen, and all state and federal legislators from Katsina are members of the APC. He confidently assured the party’s national leadership of a strong showing in 2027, saying Katsina’s support for Tinubu would “rival, and even surpass, what Lagos can offer.”
The event also featured the formal handover of defectors from opposition parties, including the PRP, NNPP, PDP, and APGA, to the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.
Yilwatda commended Radda’s performance in office, citing improvements in infrastructure, water supply, education, and healthcare as reasons for the party’s growing appeal.
Other prominent figures, including former Governors Aminu Masari and Ibrahim Shema, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and stakeholders’ forum chairman Senator Ibrahim Ida, praised the unity within the state APC and pledged collective efforts toward victory in 2027.
