Lagos publishes dates, guidelines for 2026 public service exams
The Lagos State Government has announced that the 2026 Public Service Examinations will hold from Tuesday, May 12, to Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
The government disclosed this in a statement on Thursday via its official social media page, noting that the examinations would take place at the Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre in Magodo.
According to the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, acting through the Lagos State Examinations Board, the official schedule and guidelines for the examinations have been approved following an earlier circular from the Head of Service.
The ministry stated that the examinations would include the compulsory test for all cadres in the state public service, the combined confirmation and promotion examination for Clerical Officers II and Clerical Assistants, as well as the external secretarial examination.
Candidates are expected to begin printing their examination slips from Tuesday, May 5, through the Examinations Board portal using their registration login details. Each slip will contain the candidate’s scheduled date and time.
The government also directed candidates to present valid means of identification at the venue, including staff identity cards, National Identification Number slips, or Lagos State Residents Registration Agency cards. A printed copy of the examination slip must also be brought to the venue.
The ministry added that the examinations would be conducted using the Computer-Based Test format, and candidates were advised to familiarise themselves with basic computer operations ahead of time.
Candidates were also warned to dress appropriately, as inappropriate dressing would not be permitted at the examination venue. The Lagos State Examinations Board urged all candidates to comply fully with the guidelines to ensure a smooth and orderly process.
