LASTMA Launches New Toll-Free Hotline to Enhance Emergency and Traffic Response

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has introduced a new toll-free short-code, 3367, as part of a broader effort to modernize traffic oversight and streamline emergency responses across the state.

Replacing the agency’s previous long-format contact numbers, the new three-digit hotline is designed to provide residents with a more accessible and cost-free way to report critical road incidents. According to the agency, the service is currently available to subscribers on the MTN, 9mobile, and Glo networks.

Road users are encouraged to utilize the hotline to report a wide array of traffic concerns, including vehicle breakdowns, accidents, stranded tankers, and major road obstructions. Furthermore, the agency has integrated a feedback mechanism into the platform, allowing the public to report the conduct and professionalism of its officers. This move is aimed at increasing transparency and accountability within the service.

To ensure the system is accessible to the diverse population of Lagos, the hotline supports reporting in English, Yoruba, and Pidgin.

LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the launch as a significant milestone in the agency’s transition toward a more technology-driven, citizen-centered traffic management system. He emphasized that the rapid urbanization of Lagos necessitates a proactive approach to transportation challenges.

“The inauguration of the 3367 Toll-Free Short-Code Hotline represents another monumental stride towards institutionalizing a safer, more efficient, and highly responsive transportation ecosystem,” said Bakare-Oki.

The agency has assured the public that all reports submitted through the new channel will be handled with confidentiality and diligence, with information being routed immediately to the relevant operational units for quick intervention.
