Nigerian Army Opens Officer Recruitment for Direct Short Service Commission
The Nigerian Army has officially commenced the recruitment process for its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, inviting qualified civilians and serving military personnel to apply for officer commissions.
In an announcement made on its official social media platform on Tuesday, the Army outlined that the DSSC offers an avenue for professionals to be commissioned into specialised corps, where their skills will contribute to national defence and security operations.
The application portal is set to open from January 7 to February 4, 2026. According to the statement, the process is free of charge and must be completed online via the official recruitment website.
Successful candidates will be integrated into key specialised units, including the:
· Nigerian Army Engineers
· Nigerian Army Signals
· Nigerian Army Medical Corps
· Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers
· Nigerian Army Education Corps
