Nigerians in the US Must Now Apply for Visas Directly Through Consular Offices

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the immediate termination of the contract with Online Integrated Solutions (OIS Services), the firm previously responsible for managing Nigeria’s visa application and submission centers across the United States.

In a formal notice released on Thursday, the immigration authorities directed all prospective travelers and Nigerians living in the U.S. who require a visa to enter Nigeria to bypass third-party service providers. Moving forward, all visa applications must be submitted directly to the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., or the Nigerian Consulates in New York and Atlanta.

The Consulate General of Nigeria in New York also issued a corresponding update on its platform, confirming that OIS Services is no longer authorized to collect or submit visa applications on behalf of the Nigerian missions.

For years, OIS Services had acted as the primary outsourced partner for Nigerian missions in various U.S. cities, including Houston, Los Angeles, and New Jersey, providing essential services such as document processing and biometric data collection.

Neither the Nigeria Immigration Service nor the affected diplomatic missions have disclosed the specific reasons behind the sudden disengagement of the service provider. Applicants are advised to contact their nearest Nigerian embassy or consulate directly for further guidance on the updated submission process until further notice.
